The annual meeting between the Coppa Italia winners and Serie A champions was not a tight game as many has expected.

First-half goals from first-half goals from Federico Dimarco and Edin Dzeko and a late third from Lautaro Martinez securing the trophy.

Rafael Leao could have scored the equalizer after 16 minutes, but Andre Onana made a stunning save by his finger’s tips only at a cost of a corner.

Dzeko put the ball in the back of the net by firing into the bottom right corner from inside the box, at this stage, it was almost impossible for Il Diavolo to hope for a comeback.

At some points after the second goal, Milan forced Inter onto defensive but they could not find a breakthrough.

Portuguese Leao fired just over the bar as he approached the box four minutes into the second half.

Then came the sucker punch when Lautaro Martinez wrapped the win in the 77th minute with his nice curled shot by his outside of the left foot.

SuperCoppa Italiana 2023- Milestone marked for Inter Milan

The victory marked a milestone for Inter as this is the first time they win against Milan in an Italian cup final, having lost the Coppa Italia in 1977 and the Italian Super Cup in 2011.
