Official: Besiktas signing Rebic from Milan
It’s official, Ante Rebic has left AC Milan to join Turkish side Besiktas as the Rossoneri carry on their offloading project in the transfer window.
Rebic signs for Besiktas
It took Besiktas weeks to finally land their target, with the Turkish side agreeing to pay around €2m total for the 29-year-old, a €500,000 fee with €1.5m in add-ons.
The 29-year-old Croatian forward was cut from Stefano Pioli’s squad in the Lombardy capital and was not brought on the pre-season tour to the United States, making his position in the transfer market clear.
Besiktas, who has always kept track of Rebic, clarified their intention, and the negotiations with Milan progressed quickly.
This is a move to reinforce their attacking lines heavily after their rivals Galatasaray made their recent move with prolific striker Mauro Icardi.
During his four years with Milan, Rebic scored 29 goals and provided 17 assists across 123 total appearances. He was a part of the squad that won the Scudetto in the 2021-22 campaign.
Who can be next after Rebic?
A string of players have departed from San Siro, and Rebic will not be the last to leave.
Divock Origi, Simon Kjaer are on the verge of moving to other destinations.
Former Liverpool great Origi rejected lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League, while Kjaer may have to search for more game times since he is only the fourth choice in the defense.
The Dane has been a significant player for Milan since he arrived along with Zlatan Ibrahimovic in January 2020. Today, he’s one of the most experienced players on the team and remains an essential person in the locker room.
As reported by Calciomercato.com, amid rumors linking him with a move, Kjmaaer has not asked to leave Milan, and no offers have arrived thus far. However, with the Euros taking place next year, he could evaluate any proposals that might come his way.
