Giroud heads to LA Galaxy

The 37-year-old Giroud has expressed interest in a move to the US-based soccer league after the season ends.

Football insider Fabrizio Romano first reported the development.

His contract with AC Milan expires in June 2024.

The French international has decided to sign with LAFC on a contract worth around $3.2 million until December 2025.

Giroud met with LAFC co-president John Thorrington in Milan to finalize his contract.

The veteran striker will join his France 2018 World Cup-winning teammate Hugo Lloris, who signed for LAFC during the winter transfer window.

AC Milan recently suffered a 2-1 defeat to Inter Milan in the Serie A final.

Meanwhile, Giroud joins an LAFC squad that won the 2022 MLS Cup.

Giroud’s storied career

With his recent move in MLS, Giroud has officially joined his sixth league.

Giroud began his career in France, starting in the National (3rd division), then progressing through Ligue 2, and Ligue 1.

He then moved to the Premier League in England, where he joined Arsenal and Chelsea.

Giroud won three FA Cups with Arsenal before lifting the Champions League, Europa League, and another FA Cup with Chelsea.

He then took his talent to AC Milan in 2021, winning the Serie A title in his first season.

This season, Giroud has 13 goals and eight assists in 30 Serie A games with Milan.

Giroud is the leading scorer for the French national team with 57 goals in 131 caps.
