Giroud to MLS?
Giroud’s contract will expire this season, and a move to MLS is possible should the Italian club opt not to extend his contract.
ESPN reported that Giroud, 37, would like to join an MLS side in the major market franchise.
Specifically, La Gazzetta dello Sport wrote that New York and Los Angeles are Giroud’s preferred cities.
Giroud saw his former France teammate Hugo Lloris join LAFC in December.
“At the end of the season, more opportunities will open up, and I will make my decision. As a footballer, and as a family man,” he said in January.
The forward would prefer to stay for one more season in Milan.
However, he is open to an MLS move if he does not sign an extension.
Great form in AC Milan
The French national joined AC Milan in 2022.
In his three seasons with the Rossoneri, Giroud helped the club to the Serie A title in 2022.
In addition, Giroud continues his excellent form this season with AC Milan, netting 12 goals in 25 Serie A games.
He previously had stints with Arsenal and Chelsea.
The veteran Frenchman has won the 2018 World Cup with France.
Giroud also represented the country at two other World Cups and three European Championships.
