Let’s look at the details of the American superstar expected to bring his quality and versatility to Stefano Pioli’s attacking lines.
Details of Pulisic Joining Milan
Per multiple trusted reports from prestigious sites, Rossoneri have reached an agreement to sign Pulisic in a deal worth up to €22 million ($24.2m, £18.8m).
The Athletic claimed that the initial fee is set to be €20m plus €2m in add-ons and, most importantly, a sell-on clause in case of a future transfer that can benefit the Serie A giants.
Milan had faced stiff competition from Lyon, who made a better offer to hijack the deal, but an improved bid for Pulisic in a package worth up to €22m seemed to work.
Pulisic only set eyes on Milan
Chelsea went through one of the worst seasons of their history, ending up at 12th in the standings, while Pulisic lacked game times. Pulisic made just eight Premier League starts for Chelsea during the 2022-23 season.
The 24-year-old seeks regular playing time ahead of important periods of the USMNT, who are co-hosting the 2026 World Cup, and the 2024 Copa America is happening next Summer.
Lyon also made a €25m bid for Pulisic earlier this week, which is more in line with the figure Chelsea hoped to receive. However, Pulisic made it clear he was not interested in joining Lyon.
Pulisic, who had only one year left on his contract at Chelsea, already has an agreement with Milan.
Chelsea and Milan have forged a good relationship in the past few years, with Olivier Giroud, Fikayo Tomori, Tiemoue Bakayoko, and, most recently, Ruben Loftus-Cheek all joining the Italian club.
He joined the Blues Borussia Dortmund in a £58million ($63.6million) deal in January 2019 before remaining on loan in Germany for the remainder of the season.
Pulisic was part of the Champions League-winning squad in 2020-21, scoring in the first leg of the semi-final against Real Madrid.
Despite his struggles at the domestic level, Pulisic remains a key player for the United States, with 60 international caps and 25 goals for his country.
