Rossoneri manager Stefano Pioli personally wants the French forward in the squad to form a heavy attack line with Rafael Leao.
According to Italian transfer expert Di Marzio, Milan has already placed an official offer to the Borussia Monchengladbach star. Still, the stiff competition from Ligue 1 side PSG has complicated the deal.
It’s reported that the French side’s offer is much more lucrative, and it’s understandable why 25-year-old Thuram has been struggling to make up his mind.
Thuram had asked for a few days to decide, but this has turned into two weeks, and both clubs are keen to resolve the issue as soon as possible, allowing them to focus on other targets.
Milan’s offer to Thuram revealed
La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed Milan’s contract to Thuram is worth around €5-5.5m net per season, far less than PSG’s offer. Still, Pioli has already promised the striker a central role in the project, something he’s unlikely to be given in the French capital.
Pioli was reportedly contacting the striker and impressing on how important Thuram’s role will be at San Siro.
Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain had already sent the Frenchman a huge offer since the end of the last season, but Thuram is taking a significant amount of time to weigh the proposals.
The Rossoneri are becoming increasingly optimistic as they can offer the 25-year-old ample playing time, which he won’t be receiving with The Parisiens.
Despite being on vacation, Pioli is aware of the required improvements in his team and sees the signing of Marcus Thuram as necessary. This is why he has now decided to deal with the player in a more personal space, as both individuals have a lot of similarities.
