Milan’s initial bid for Pulisic
According to the Daily Mail, the Serie A giants have submitted a bid of £12 million plus bonuses to sign Chelsea winger Pulisic.
The American superstar joined Chelsea in 2019 from Borussia Dortmund for a huge fee of £58 million, but his performance has downfall through the years.
‘Captain America’ has made 145 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions, contributing 28 goals and 21 assists.
However, Chelsea will not compete at any elite European competitions like the Champions League or Europa League next season; a massive clear-out has been happening with strings of top stars departed.
Edouard Mendy, Kalidou Koulibaly, Matteo Kovacic, and Kai Havertz have left the London-based club; Pulisic can be the next name.
San Siro can be a perfect destination for the 24-year-old since former teammate Fikayo Tomori has been enjoying successful spells with the club.
Lyon can hijack Pulisic’s deal
Despite having closed personal terms, Milan can lose Pulisic to Ligue 1 side Lyon, who reportedly made a better bid.
Transfer expert David Ornstein said that Lyon made a €25m offer with clauses that could meet Chelsea’s demands.
Lyon’s American ownership is quite fond of the idea of having Captain America at their newly acquired team and recently were said to have made the former Dortmund star their “top priority” of the transfer window.
The offer includes “a meaningful sell-on clause that is still being negotiated, ” which can benefit Chelsea if Lyon sells Pulisic in the future.
Recent reports in Italy made it seem like it was only a matter of time before Pulisic would end up in Milan, so it might depend on what Pulisic prefers.
