Directors Maldini and Massara to leave Milan
Director Paolo Maldinhi and Co-director Ricky Massara is set to leave AC Milan with immediate effect, which is shock updates to the club’s fans and even players.
Two from the most trusted sites Fabrizio Romano and Di Marzio both reported that the departures of such figures are resulted from the different version of the future of the club with owner Gerry Cardinale.

What happened
Per reports, the legend defender and now director Maldini will leave. It’s over after tense meeting with RedBird Capital owner Cardinale.
This will be followed by the departure of Massara, who have been working impressively beside Maldini to bring the glory back to the club.
Maldini chose Massara to be his right-hand man after Leonardo’s farewell in the Summer of 2019, since then, the pair has brought significant reinforcements such as Rafael Leao, Mike Maignan and many more.
The meeting that went wrong with Cardinale
Maldini had had a meeting with the club’s boss Cardinale, however, it lasted only for a few minutes and MilanNews reported that the ownership’s desire was not to continue with Maldini as technical director.
It was also reported that the situation is very tense around the board after meeting in the morning, which would lead to Massara to leave eventually.
The relationship between Maldini and Cardinale were not very good, with the views between the two are too far apart.
Maldini was understood to have ask for more investments while the owners must have opposed.
Reactions on Maldini leaving
Many legends and fans expressed their frustration with the news.
Milan great Antonio Cassano said in an interview:
“He [Maldini] did an amazing job at Milan, Cardinale doesn’t understand anything about football.”
Fans are pulling a campaign on twitter with the hashtag #Cardinale is getting attentions.
La Repubblica, Milannews.it and more claim this evening that the squad is both shocked and furious at this turn of events.
Leao, who sat between Maldini and Massara just days ago to sign his contract extension, seemed to confirm as much with a tweet that consistent entirely of a thinking emoji.
Others said to be stunned include Sandro Tonali and Theo Hernandez, who recognise the role that Maldini has in representing the history of the club.
