Roma beat AC Milan at San Siro in Europa League first leg

AS Roma rode a Gianluca Mancini goal to a 1-0 win over AC Milan in the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final at San Siro on Thursday.

Atalanta shocked Liverpool in a three-nil match

Another Italian representative were in action, as Atalanta created an earthquake, beating Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to take a significant step towards the semi-final of the Europa League and being the only team that win at Anfield this season.

Atalanta stunned the invincible fortress Anfield on Thursday, as Gianluca Scamacca scored twice in a 3-0 win. This leaves Liverpool with a mountain to climb to reach the Europa League semi-finals.

Mario Pasalic added a third seven minutes from time to condemn Liverpool to a first home defeat in all competitions for 14 months.

Portuguese champions Benfica claimed a 2-1 home win over Marseille through goals by Rafa Silva and Argentine forward Ángel Di María.
