AC Milan released new kits for the 2023/24 season
The left-back has twice offers from Fulham, while a move to his favorite destination Bologna did not fall through.
According to transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio, Ballo-Toure accepted German side Bremen’s offer, and two clubs are closing the deal very soon.
The Senegalese and French is expected to cash in at least €5 million for Rossoneri once the deal is closed within this week.
Ballo-Toure wants to exit for more game time
Ballo-Toure wants regular playing time, and Werder Bremen guarantees that and has prepared a four-year deal. He had also accepted a move to Bologna on the condition that he would get regular first-team football, which he wouldn’t get at Fulham.
The 26-year-old is separate from Stefano Pioli’s plan next season, 2023/24, while only managed to feature in 14 games in all competitions last season.
Ballo-Toure’s replacement
Despite not using Ballo-Toure regularly, Milan still needs a quality substitute for the full-backs.
Once the deal with Werder Bremen is completed, Milan will turn to their target as a replacement, namely FC Basel left-back Calafiori.
The 21-year-old was sold to FC Basel by Roma only a year ago for €1m, with the Giallorossi also retaining 40 percent of the sell-on fee.
An Italy Under-21 international, Calafiori has also been linked with Cagliari this summer. The young defender is the primary choice to replace Theo Hernandez, as there is a belief that he has developed since he left Italy.
He made 38 appearances for Basel last season, contributing one goal and three assists for the Swiss club.
