AC Milan’s transfer window so far

Milan have been busy throughout the 2023 summer transfer window, both ins and outs, with some big names joining the squad.

The sale of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle has been the biggest deal so far, but the club have also signed eight players, including the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Tijjani Reijnders, Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze and Noah Okafor.

The off-loading process goes on, with AC Milan officially confirming that Charles De Ketelaere has completed his move to Atalanta on an initial loan deal.

The Nerazzurri will retain the chance to make the deal permanent due to the insertion of an option to buy.

How AC Milan could line up?

The pre-season friendlies were a mixed bag of results, but head coach Stefano Pioli should know one thing or two about a strong XI when the new season emerges in a few days.

A potential Milan XI should combine new signings and the pillars from the club, as new boys Christian Pulisic will feature up front with Olivier Giroud, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek can bring the muscles to the midfield.

AC Milan’s XI will probably look like this:

Probable Milan XI (4-3-3): Maignan; Calabria, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo Hernandez; Loftus-Cheek, Krunic, Reijnders; Pulisic (Chukwueze), Giroud, Leao.

The trip to Bologna will be crucial

A lot has changed at AC Milan over the summer, and Stefano Pioli will lead his troops to Bologna on Monday, hoping to prove that they are serious title candidates.

The line-up for Bologna seems obvious. It will be the 4-3-3 with Loftus-Cheek, Reijnders, and Pulisic immediately on the field. There will be no significant absences except for Ismael Bennacer and the disqualified Musah.

Pulisic should get the nod over Chukwueze on the right, ready to come off the bench and have his say. The only doubt concerns the right-back role: Calabria has recovered, but in the last few games, Pioli has tried Kalulu.
