AC Milan released new kits for the 2023/24 season
According to El Debate, per reporter Tomas Gonzalez-Martin, the 22-year-old defender is trying to convince that he is suitable for Madrid’s defense.
The Spanish capital side will have to rotate David Alaba, Antonio Rudiger, and Nacho in the next six months, provided they have yet to sign any new centre-back.
However, it’s also believed that a transfer can be fabricated for Los Blancos if a name comes with the right price.
El Debate claimed that the agent of AC Milan defender Malick Thiaw had offered his client to Real Madrid as part of a potential €30m deal.
The journalist Tomas Gonzalez-Martin writes that the agent of the 22-year-old defender is trying to see if Madrid can sign the player this summer because he would not be expensive.
Adding to that, a report from Calciomercato has claimed that while Milan considers him untouchable, a fee in the region of €30 million would do the trick.
Who is Malick Thiaw?
Standing at 6ft4, the youngster is a giant figure in the back four, who possesses impressive aerials ability with 3.26 aerials wins per 90 minutes and 4.77 clearances per game.
Having come through the youth academy of Schalke, Thiaw moved to Milan in the previous summer for a fee believed to be around €5 million plus €2 million in add-ons.
He did play just 24 games for Milan last season and will be looking for more game time in the coming season of 2023/24.
What is Real Madrid’s plan?
Real Madrid are largely expected to stay quiet for the rest of the transfer window. Except for completing Kepa Arrizabalaga’s loan deal from Chelsea to replace Thibaut Courtois, there has yet to be a sign of a new centre-back arriving.
The potential return of Sergio Ramos was thought to be on the cards, but those close to the club have played down the rumors of the legend’s return.
As a result, the manager is likely to count on young talents from Castilla, and names such as Alvaro Carrillo and Rafel Obrador have been doing rounds lately.
As such, Madrid’s options should be more than enough to cover the position until Militao returns, with Antonio Rudiger and Nacho also waiting in the wings.
