AC Milan eyes Youssouf Fofana next summer

AC Milan are considering adding AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana to their roster, Italy media outlet Calciomercato reported.

AC Milan plans to boost their midfield this summer, and the 25-year-old Foufana is on their shortlist.

Foufana’s contract with Monaco expires in 2025, giving Milan a chance to snag him.

The French international spoke about the Rossoneri rumors, saying he is focused on Monaco’s Champions League campaign.

“I think Milan are a truly huge club. Everyone knows Milan and their list of successes. But apart from the chatter in Italy, I remain focused on my mission to bring Monaco to the Champions League, which’ll be like a marathon,” Foufana said.

“From now until the end of the season, every match is like a final. And there are seven left to play. We have to ‘find’ points where we have to give everything in every match. When you play for Monaco, you know that the Champions League is the club’s natural goal.”

Still, Foufana recognized that AC Milan is one of the most prestigious clubs in the world.

“As already said, Milan are one of the biggest clubs in the world with an important trophy cabinet, but my focus currently is to qualify for the Champions League with Monaco.”

So far, Foufana has two goals and three assists in 28 appearances in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France.
