The Nigeria international has been Milan’s target for months. According to multiple sources, Rossneri will soon finalize the deal with Villarreal.
Chukwueze to Milan is imminent
La Gazzetta dello Sport revealed that Milan and Villarreal have already reached a principle agreement for the 23-year-old, who destroyed Real Madrid last season.
Milannews, among other sources, claimed that the La Liga side is reviewing the last few details, including Matteo Gabbia moving to Spain in the other way.
Ideally, Chukwueze can arrive early this week for medical, while Gabbia will join the Submarine on a dry loan deal until the end of the season.
Sky Sport Italia and Gazzetta claim the Italian centre-back will have little game time this season, as he managed to have only 17 appearances in all competitions in 2022/23.
Gabbia was expected to fly to Spain after Milan’s friendly game against Real Madrid in Pasadena on Sunday, which ended in a 3-2 defeat, despite the 2-0 lead for the Milan-based giant.
Per Fabrizio Romano, discussions on final details/bonuses with Villarreal are among the last steps, with the Spanish side would agree to a €20m fixed fee plus add-ons.
Al Nassr entered the race for Chukwueze
According to Rudy Galetti, Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr have joined the race to bring more firepower to the Middle East to be Ronaldo’s back-up.
Al Nassr have been busy during the summer transfer window, completing a string of superstars like Marcelo Brozovic, Seko Fofana, and the latest Alex Telles.
Ronaldo’s side is preparing a huge offer which will be sent to Villarreal, that’s why the following hours are crucial to see if a hijack is successful.
