Country: Romania (73 caps from 2009-2020)

At AC Milan since: 2020

Born in Bucharest, Tătărușanu started his career in 2003, with local third-tier side Juventus (now known as Daco-Getica) until 2006. A year later, he made his Romanian top flight debut with Gloria Bistrița in which he went back to the capital in 2008 by signing with powerhouse Steaua, who then sent him back to Gloria on loan for his first season.

Tătărușanu returned to Steaua in the 2009-10 season, as it became its first-choice goalkeeper in which he won a Romanian Cup and two Romanian League titles.

After the capital club, he went to Tuscany in 2014, signing a five-year deal with Fiorentina. He played second-stringer to Neto on his first season there, before taking over the starting job the following two seasons and played a total of 81 league matches.

In 2017, he was sold to Ligue 1’s Nantes and played 64 league matches in his two seasons, before joining Lyon in 2019 as a secondary to Anthony Lopes.

After their semifinal run of the Champions league in 2020 with OL, Tătărușanu returned to the Serie A, this time signing with the Rossoneri and played second-fiddle to Gianluigi Donnarumma as Milan finished as runners-up after playing just six matches in his debut campaign.

The following season, Tătărușanu reprised his second-choice role behind new arrival Mike Maignan in the 2021-22 season. He played six matches while the former Lille man had a wrist operation, scoring four wins and saved Lautaro Martinez’s spot kick to earn a draw in the Derby, as Milan went all the way to their 19th Scudetto.
