Goal stolen

The USMNT captain scored the final goal in AC Milan’s 4-2 win over Slavia Praha in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 Thursday.

Leao unleashed a shot through multiple Slavia defenders when Pulisic made his way to the goal.

To ensure Milan’s goal, Pulisic lightly tapped the ball and ended up in the back of the net in the 85th minute.

With the win, the Rossoneri squad now carry a two-goal lead into next week’s second leg.

In terms of “stealing” Leao’s goal, the 25-year-old Pulisic said he followed his instincts.

“I wasn’t sure if it was going in, so I felt like I had to touch it,” he said.

Pulisic’s just scored his first goal in the Europa League this season. He has now registered nine goals and seven assists in all competitions.

Most importantly, AC Milan holds an advantage in the second leg, as they improved their chance to advance to the quarter-finals.

A win is a win

Although Pulisic felt this so-called strange feeling after the game, he insisted that the goal was to reach the Final.

“I have my personal goals and assists, but the most important thing is to win. Of course, in this competition, we all want to go to the Final and win it,” he said.

“Of course, we’re happy with the advantage, but it’s a strange feeling because with one man more, I feel like we could’ve done more, have a bigger advantage for sure. But we can’t change the past now. We have to prepare for Prague.”
