San Donato Mayor Francesco Squeri will address the referendum question after he approves the technical and legal feasibility of Milan playing in their stadium. Milan has already purchased the land needed to build their home stadium in San Donato.

Representatives of the “No Stadium Committee” in San Donato on February sent to the municipality the request for analysis of the correct application of technical and legal norms, and economic and financial sustainability of Milan playing in their area, Calcio e Financza (via Calciomercato.com) reported.

MILAN NOT KEEN ON RETURNING TO SAN SIRO

Squeri’s decision came after Milan expressed no interest in staying at their current playing field in San Siro. The Rossoneri’s decision remains unchanged even if San Siro Mayor Bep[pe Sala seeks to come up with a project that could be considered by both Milan and Inter.

However, residents in San Donato are against Milan moving to their area. This development has prompted them to get a referendum that would indefinitely delay the Rossoneri’s venue transfer plans.

Milan beat Lazio 1-0, in their last match in the Serie A 2023/24 MD27. The Rossoneri will next take on Slavia Prague in the first leg of the Europa League knock-out round of 16.
